Why is my Windows license showing an activation error?

There are a few common reasons why a license key may not activate right away. Don't worry — all our licenses are genuine and supported. Here are the most frequent cases:


1. You're using Windows Home but entered a Windows Pro key

This is the most common issue. A Windows 11 or 10 Home edition cannot accept a Pro license key without upgrading first.

Solution:
You must upgrade to Pro before activating. Contact us and we’ll guide you step by step, or follow the instructions provided in your email to upgrade.


2. The license was entered incorrectly

Typos or missing characters can cause the system to reject the license.

Solution:
Double-check the key you entered. Make sure there are no spaces, dashes, or extra characters. If you're unsure, contact us — we're happy to verify it with you.


3. Activation requires phone verification

Sometimes Windows requires telephone activation for added security, especially on older versions or after hardware changes.

Solution:
You’ll see an option that says "Activate by phone". Follow the on-screen steps, or call us and we’ll walk you through the process.


4. You're using an Evaluation version of Windows

Evaluation versions (especially in enterprise environments) cannot be upgraded or activated with retail keys.

Solution:
You will need to install a clean version of Windows Pro. We can send you the correct ISO file or help you wipe and reinstall.


5. You changed major hardware components

If you recently replaced your motherboard or hard drive, Windows may treat your system as "new."

Solution:
Activation might fail and ask for revalidation. Contact us — we’ll assist you with the reactivation or provide a new key if needed.
